I soak when adding chips to coals...don't soak when strictly smoking.
nope i dont want water dripping from the ceiling of my smoker, too much moisture
once you pull your meat out and see that its covered in nasty wet stuff (someones gonna have fun with that sentence)
I soak, Big Chief smoker with a pan, but I do it because it says to... never really considered not soaking. Now I gotta try that. Oh wait, that means I need something to smoke. S'cuse me, I gotta go check the fridge/freezer/backyard.

I am guessing if it happened, those people would start wrapping their meat.With foil before cooking.
