bad week

so i had some trouble with my 30-06 the bolt was sticking after the shot. so i cleaned it heavly and lubed it up, went out shooting agian to make sure it was on target for season. well it stuck again, talked to someone at the shooting range, they pointed me to new bullets maybe it was the bullets where a bad batch.
so i went out got some new bullets (different company and 150 grain, use to be 180 grain) so the i shot those and the bolt is still sticking.....
its not like its a little dificult to open , no i am having to hit it hard and put a lot of force on the bolt to open it. no stretching of the bolt, nothign looks wrong with the barrel bolt or gun. kinda sucks that i need to either get it fixed ebfore season or pick up a new gun :/
if anyone has seen this before i would love to hear. its a remington 710 i know its a cheap gun but worked well bofore this, worked perfectly till about 1 month ago when it started acting up and have put prob 30 rounds though it before this incedent. well i am prob getting a 243 or 6mm for dear this year so i can also use it for yotes and bobcat(if its not a to big calliber). just wanted to vnet and see if anyone knows what to do maybe there is somethign i am over looking.

Could you have caused a burr in the breech with one of your tools and don't know it till the brass has expanded ?? Look over the brass with a magnifying glass, it will tell you where the problem lies, unless it is actually the ejector maybe it is bent or something !!

are you shooting reloads or factory ammo? This exact same thing happened to a buddy of mine with reloads, we think he may not have got the cases fully re-sized. He went back to factory ammo and no problems. Be careful forcing your bolt open he did the same thing and busted his ejector pin. Hope this helps.

its factory ammo, also looking the cartage there is a nick out fo it but all the other cartages that ahve been stuck in it look normal nothign wrong maybe 1 more shot to see if the same nick will show up. yea 1 shot is all you need but you never know what will happen... what should i do, ill prob calling remington tomorow and look around for a gun smith. yea i have taken off the stock recently but that was after the firsttime it got stuck, i removed it and started taking apart the gun to remove the bolt but didn't break it apart much past that since i didn't feel confortable past removing stock. ( i put everthing back 100% like it was) so after season ill take ti to a gun smith to see what he/she thinks. right know i am sure most are swamped, any other info would be apriceated.
only thing that is wierd it is only after it is shot it does that. also emptys will not go back in or the lastest one i shot.

your loads are too hot. look for extracor marks on the head of the case. the case is over expanding in the chamber and sticking. go down in .5 grain incriminates until it frees up. if you're shooting factory loads you might have an issue on your hands...

I had the same thing happen to me.I had my rifle rechambered from 30-06 to 300win.Took it back to gunsmith with the casings that made the bolt stick and it was a quick fix no big deal.

yeah, just noticed that... sounds like your chamber is oversized... it's allowing the cases to expand too much. i don't shoot factory ammo so im not sure if you can even get 'practice' or 'target' loads for an '06, but these would usually be fairly low pressure loads, give those a try and see if it still sticks.

I had a simular problem several years ago. My problem was a rusted chamber. Apperently I did not get all the mouister out.
Take it to a smith soon, they will get very busy real soon. My problem got bad enough the bolt handle came of in my hand.

i might try recleaningthe chamber to get any rust out but yea ill hit up some gun smiths in the area i know of one but he was filled till/though hunting season. ansl illl take another shot in it to see what happens cause the shot t took today, the bolt opened with a little less hitting which is still bad.

Sounds like the chamber has burrs in it from manufacturing. You need to polish the chamber. You can take it to a gun smith for polishing or you can use a green scotch pad and a clean rod

Wouldn't hurt to contact Remington and see what they can do. My Dad had the same issue with a 700SPS and they replaced it free.
