WAC gun show at Monroe
« on: January 11, 2013, 09:11:43 PM »
Anyone ever had any success finding decent deals on anything there? I wouldnt be looking for guns, but maybe reloading items, powder, primers, etc. Just wondering if I should save the few dollars it costs to get in and spend it on equipment elsewhere. :dunno:

I've only been to one. It was worth the $8 just to wander around and look at all the stuff. If there's stuff you want to buy, even better.

I go often.  I think it will be hard to find a deal now on ammo or anything.  Could before.

Gun shows are great to connect with fellow patriots in the community. They're also great to find a unique item. However l, I have never bought a gun at one and find that deals are much better at my favorite shops.

We definitely need to stick up for the institution of the American gun show, even if the aren't the best place to find a deal. It's just one more thing the pinkos want to take away from us.

pinkos???? what is this, 1970???   im all for the 2A, but honestly gun shows are where psychos buy guns, and the reason for that is they can do it off paper.  that being said, guns cost MORE at gun shows, and what people are paying for is the opportunity to buy a gun without paperwork.  putting tighter regulations on gun shows is NOT a violation of our rights, its an attempt ( probably useless tho ) to regulate who gets to buy guns.  and isnt that really the issue? not gun ownership, but gun ownership by mentally balanced people?

Please post the % of guns found at crime scenes that were purchased at gun shows: _________

You really want the pinkos (sorry but now I'm starting to like to like that 70s word) determining who is mentally balanced and who is not?

i think that gun ownership is not a problem, mentally disturbed people having easy access to guns is a problem... and gun shows give easy access to guns to mentally disturbed people.... i have no problem filling out one page of paperwork before i buy a new firearm. why should i?  im not going to pay MORE for a gun to avoid background checks.  im sane and have no criminal history.  i am PRO 2A, i will defend my right to own guns til the end... but i DO think we need to make some attempt to keep mental patients from buying guns.  and a gunshow is where any lunatic can buy a gun unchecked.  i will support background checks at gunshows no problem.  if you think that makes me a pinko, well, so be it.   by the way, most recent usage of the term pinko i can think of was in fear and loathing, which was written in what... 1971?

When was the last time you were at the gunshow in Monroe?

FYI If we just want to agree most, if not all of the items at the shows are for overpriced used items I'd agree.
But, to make the claim that going there makes one mentally ill? Accept background checks with registration or you are mentally ill?

On the other hand, if you were brainwashed how would you know?

I am looking out for you here my friend. Mind control is a horrible mental illness. It can shatter your world view.

% of guns purchased at gun shows..... yeah, the thing about guns bought at gun shows with no paperwork being signed... is that theres no paperwork or record of where they were bought.... hard concept to grasp clem?

Ok. You're ignorant of the stat. No problem. How about posting up some news stories about mass shootings where the perp bought his gun at a gun show? How many can you name from memory?

You may not have a problem with an invasion of your privacy  but many of us do. Should we require background checks before we allow people to post on Internet forums?  There weren't computers in 1787 you know. Should we be able to use pseudonyms on here or should we have to post with our real full name and put up our picture?  These might seem like "reasonable" regulations to some but the Founders gave us the Bill of Rights for a reason. "Shall not be infringed" to  me means that I should be able to buy a fully automatic ar-15 from the Cabelas catalogue for cash and I should be able to buy it without a serial number if that's what I want.
