I know that Remington offers one in their R25 which is the 308 platform... I would guess its a bad ass caliber.

Yep pull 2 pins and swap uppers. Takes longer to decide what caliber to use than it does to swap uppers.

If you go with the 308 platform there are LOTS of normal hunting caliber options, if you go the .223 route the only really main stream upper i can think of is the 204 ruger  :twocents:

you need to add the .25 WSSM to the AR 15 list.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Lots of deer and hog hunters seem to use the 6.8 spc (.277).

I Guss i should have said COMMON  calibers.   I exclude pistol rounds, and think of common rifle rounds that you could pick up at a local bimart or hardware store. soo
.223, .204 ruger, and then the 3 short mags,
 .308, 243, 22-250, 7-08 270, and then the 3 short mags

and i'm not sure you can pick up the short mags at a hardware store or bimart but...

Is the cost the same between a AR 15 and AR 10?

Generally AR-10s are about 1/2 again as much.

Now though? They're all expensive.

Just before the craze a buddy of mine bought a slightly used .223 for $700 and a .308 for $1100.  :twocents:
