primos alpha dog caller

I have a gift card from cabela's lol.I'm thinking of getting the alpha dog caller.I was wondering what you guys think of this caller ?

I have the newer power dog and love it. I think the Alpha dog would be even better.

Dont know about the alpha dogg but I used the power dogg for a year or two and killed alot of ki-oats with it. The AD is probably alot better than the PD negatives on the power dogg was poor remote - the range SUCKED -  and not very loud. I like my foxpro firestorm much better, alot louder and alot more calls and the remoate range is awesome - but a bit more money too. Again, I dont know much about the AD but I'd you are going to spend $300 on an e-caller, I'd just go with a FoxPro.

BTW: I got a discount coupon in the mail for $20 of $150 or more and I think $30 off $250 (maybe?) so look for one of those before you buy. Or PM me with your addy and I can mail mine to you, I went up there last weekend and spent a few hundred on new primer feed, new boots and a lunch pail and forgot the darn thing. Not worth the $20 to go back and return & rebuy....

Buddy of mine bought one 2 weeks ago, took it out once and it was distorted as it gets after a couple calls.  He thought it had blown the speaker, so he took it back and got another.  We took it out last Saturday and on the second stand it did the same thing.  Coyote howls were distorted and it sounded terrible!  He returned it and is now saving up for a foxpro.  I've got a $130 spitfire that sounded MUCH better than his.  His sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom, a lot of echo.  He told the guy at the store never to recommend that call.

That's weird about the sounds.  I've had mine for a little over a year now, and have killed a number of coyotes.    But, it does like to use up batteries.  After about 5- 6 hours of use is when the distortion starts with mine, but the batteries are getting weak by that time.

Used both a foxpro and and primos. Do yourself a favor and save your money for a foxpro. You'll be dissapointed with primos.

The furthest I have been from my spitfire was about 35 yards. It worked great. I haven't tried it out further then that though.

You wont go wring with a foxpro they hand assemble them and test them customer service is amazing and i can get about 100 yard remote signal

Yeah, if it's clearly visible the remote's good to about 30-35.  That's as far as I'd ever want to put it though.

I looked into the Alpha Dog and the Turbo Dog and ended up going with the Turbo Dog. It was cheaper, smaller, had the same remote, similar options, and all the sounds I wanted. 

I've had good luck with it so far.  I think I've done 4-5 sets with it and called in about 8 coyotes. I've been happy with the remote range and sound for sure and the battery life seems to be great.

Buy one and kill some dogs and post up some pics!! Good Luck.

All the problems i have had with my foxpro have been due to exhausted batteries.  Fresh batteries snaps it right out of it.  Can't help with the range issue.  About the farthest out my caller has been is 40-50 yards.  i like to plant my stuff and get on stand as quickly as I can.  Often times the caller is just a few feet from where I'm sitting.
