Subcompact Help
« on: January 14, 2013, 05:11:54 PM »
Looking to purchase a subcompact 9mm that is comfortable and easy to carry.  I have been considering the Springfield XD series.  What do you think? Any other brands I should look at?

Most will think I'm crazy but I love my Taurus PT-111 pro. It has been a great little gun. Plus was cheap enough I could buy lots of ammo to try and see what it liked.
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is who you actually are while your reputation is merely who others think you are.

Check out the Ruger LCP9 if you want an easy to carry 9mm
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

M&pc 9 mm holds 12 rounds in 9mm and concealable with a t shirt with a Crossbreed iwb holster. Go to a gun shop and test the other guns but you will go to the m&p for the feel in the hand

Glock 26 in a Remora IWB holster in the Fall/Winter/Spring.  10+1 capacity. 20oz empty.   I carry a Beretta Nano w/lasermax laser, 6+1 capacity in a Remora IWB holster or a Ruger LCP .380 w/Crimson Trace laser in a Galco pocket holster during the hot Summer weather depending on what I'm wearing.  The best thing to do is get a list of what you think you would like and then go to a range where you can rent and shoot them.  Pick one that shoots and feels good to you.  Everybody is different.

Thanks for all the info. Looks like my biggest issue is not picking one out, but being able to buy it somewhere when I do.

My wife and I both carry the M&P 9mm Shield and we love them. If you want more capacity and don't mind a little thicker gun then I second the G26. If you want a smaller gun then I would could go with the Kahr PM9 or Kahr CM9.

:chuckle: I hear they are hard to find. We are looking at PM9's right now. If we decide to pick one up I may sell one of the M&P's

I have a Kahr CM40 that I carry in a IWB holster.  Very comfortable and concealable.  I wouldn't hesitate to get another one in either a 9mm or a 45.   I chose .40 because I had about 400 rounds of 40 ammo sitting on the shelf.
