Holster discision
« on: January 17, 2013, 12:53:06 PM »
OK I am conflicted, need help deciding on which OWB holster to get for casual concealment, meaning a shirt or light coat. I already have decent IWB holsters, and decent OWB (blackhawk Serpa) not necessarily the best for concealment
The conflicted part is whether to get a Kydex like a Raven, Kuban, etc...
or a nice leather holster.
I know eventually I will probably have both, but I would like one of the options now, just can't make up my mind.  :bash:

What are your favorite OWB holster for casual attire,  :dunno:
Think of it as "accessorizing"
LOL

Blackhawk Check Six rides nice and is more easily completely covered by an untucked shirt.  Downside is that it is kidney carry and makes it tough for driving in the car.

Raven Concealment.  Blows everything else OWB out of the water.

Kydex all the way!!! There are several quality Kydex holster makers out there. Here are some of the Kydex holsters I own.

Kydex is faster, sturdier and not affected by moisture like most leathers.

Raven Concealment. The handgun I'm carrying today :). Some people worry about the Kydex wear on a handgun as compared to leather when it comes to repeated holstering. My thought are, it's a carry gun. If you want a safe queen, don't carry it. I have no problem stuffing a 2K Clark Custom 1911 in Kydex.

I'm a leather kinda guy so I don't have any experience with Kydex holsters.  Look into simply rugged's cuda with the optional straps.
