No Elk - but learned alot....
« on: September 19, 2008, 03:36:41 PM »
Well, I hit it pretty hard from the start of the season for the first five days, got into elk as previously reported, then spent a couple days with Pope chasing some down south, almost connecting a couple times. This past Tuesday hit it again only a different area for each morning except Thurs (slept in, 0400hrs finally caught up with me after nine days).  The Elk have quit bugling and sounding off, haven't been into them hardly at all, seen a few.  Spent the Wednesday with M-Ray and again learned some stuff to add for next season or the late season.  But for now my Elk is over as Hockey again dominants my future weekends till Spring.  It was a great leaning experience for me as these Elk surely are different than Wyoming Elk and very different from anything in AK, Hats off to you guys that score each year with a bow, it is a tough hunt to capitalize on for certain....  Good luck to all going out this weekend and will be prepping and getting in better shape, especially to keep up with M-Ray and Pope... for the late season.... Next year, I am going to start off with my compound versus stick bow, I might have gotten one had I used it in the beginning, or maybe I better practice more.... :bash:  Never the less it was great time and learned alot for my first Washington Elk season....................
