poachers

Have seen two different sets of poachers this year  no response to the first call or second?? Wondering if u all run into this while getting ready to pick up the gold bone ! Followed one for miles not one warden or stater ...? Literally drove  :bash:by off duty tan truck parked at home?

What do you mean by poachers actually killing or shed hunters since this is in the shed section?

sounds like he is referring to poaching of animals while he is out shed hunting...

It seems as though the yakima area is understaffed, I have reported poaching 3 times and one seen one officer come out and that's because I saw him pass on the high way and flashed my lights at him until he stopped miles later.  Don't get discouraged KEEP REPORTING!!!

I was out hunting with c-money and i called a couple guys in and the dispatcher told me there where no dfw officers in the area and that the staters where busy on a call. but she did flat out tell me she was going to dispatch a deputy to my location. Granted the deputy didn't know much in the sense of fish and game laws and let the guys off with a warning. ( this call in was for shoot geese after the close of hunting time by over an hour). but non the less law enforcement made a presence. may be next time if everyone's busy as for any available officer  IMO any law enforcement officer is better than non.

I had similar problems with the poacher I called in this year.  911 dispatch couldn’t figure out who to contact, after bumbingly around transferring me to different organizations for an hour or so they put me in contact with a park ranger that just seems confused by it all and they can’t get there for hours when of course the guys are gone.

I understand they are way understaffed, but the stupidity was breathtaking.  I think I lost a few IQ points during that interaction.

I will agree that alot of 911 dispatchers I have talked to were absulutely worthless.  I called in on my neighbors shooting towards my house this summer and ended up putting a bullet through my future baby nursery's window... She never did send out a deputy, I had to call back two days later to talk to a supervisor and complain about her idiot dispatcher.

What is suppose to happen when you call 911 for a poaching in progress is they are suppose to transfer you to the local WSP Dispatch, which dispatches WDFW (and many other state and federal agencies) 24/7. However many dispatchers don't know this.

It use to be that if you saw a poaching you yourself would call WSP. But WDFW found it was easier just to tell people to call 911 and then have them transfer you since WSP numbers are different in just about every county.

So I tell people to do this: Call 911, when you get a answer say "wildlife poaching in progress, state patrol please" and they will usually say thank you and transfer you along.

99% of non-natural resource law enforcement officers don't know how to enforce fish and wildlife laws. It is not in their basic training.

Two different times this year I have seen Antlerless  animals takin doe the first and two elk the second time only days apart from each other in exact area... I havnt seen a warden since my first post??? Asked them to atleast notify  :bash:me?? And nothing

Thats the fellas I wish would make it easier for us to help im gonna start following them home someone has to I drove up a road today near u and saw two different gut piles granted I didn't c who did it but I bet it wasn't legal... every time I go it seems like this time of the year..

Enough of that talk though saw a buck with one side today so go find em!!! And keep reporting maybe they make it a more severe crime just like they should do for all them sneaky people that like to sneak in early and ruin everyone else's fun!! ( elk sheds )

Wish there was a way to start a gro :yeah:up to catch em' all...    like gate  or block all mountains to all vehicle access but snowmobiles in the winter... dont think they would work that hard... atleast slow them down..
