2013 Elk Season Naselle help!
« on: January 17, 2013, 11:13:20 AM »
I've hunted Hwy 101 from Raymond on down to Naselle a couple of times found elk but no shot. Looking for some new locations down in that area for next year and looking for some better opportunities next season. I've hunted to sloughs found sign but no elk, went down into the Naselle area found sign and elk but wasn't able pull back on one. Hunted some DNR land and perhaps some one else have some ideas on what I should do and go! Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

No, I haven't been in Willapa! Maybe it's time to learn a new area, the only problem with that is I've been all over do to inconsistency of my hunting partners and I would like to stop traveling and stick with the areas I some-what know to get to know it better for a higher percentage for harvest!

IRem, maybe this is the year to move away from the hoof rot which is taking hold in many of the SW units? Try something completely new?

I've hunted the Naselle area for the last two years in the Bear River unit (late season) and have seen a fair amount of sign and some small and medium groups of cows but I'm yet to get into any bulls. Almost made it happen on the cows twice this year. :'(
