Here we go again. Picking apart a statement to start a fight so you westsiders can control the eastside wolf problems. I stand by my post and could care less what you guys think or say.

Funny how a graduate of Seattle's Franklin High (1971) is always so ready to call names to most of the populous wetside, yet so ready to cry victim when they are called on their blanket disparagement's.

what are the 3 new "confirmed" packs?

strawberry,ni'icn and huckleberry I believe ?

I'm still wondering when they will open up about the animals that prey tested me in the lake Chelan Rec area... They have photos and scat samples.. They can't possibly claim them as the lookout pack forever seeing as neither animal was collared.
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

I hear Idaho can't pass a State initiative unless it gets a majority in all or most of the counties.  Is it too late for WA to do something like that?  WA Sportsmen and ranchers will continue to be oppressed by Westside tyranny until we do something like that.
I heard back during the 2010? elections that included the state income tax initiative about it restructuring the state.  What I heard, was that most of these high tech companies with the high pay (Microsoft, Amazon, etc) that attract much of the liberal element were prepared to uproot and move had it passed.  Supposedly a few were to head to Austin, Tx and/or Tuscon, Az.  The guy talking about it mentioned how most of the services specifically supporting them would likely fold or move too.  Also mentioned that most money raised in this that for 'causes' came from employees from the companies that would likely have moved.  And the result would have been a change in the voter structure for the state overall.  It was kind of a trade of keep lots of business in the state and keep it left leaning or have business leave the state in significant numbers, a state income tax and have the politics sway to the right.

A state of Eastern Washington would solve many of these issues... Just sayin...

Considering that eastern Washington is a net taker in terms of tax revenue I'd have to say that would cause all sorts of problems. Western Washington could justify a tax cut in that scenario however.

1. What is the right of self determination worth to you?  I'd gladly pay a little more in taxes in trade. However I don't think it would be necessary if we weren't paying for all of the crap that the liberal left side of the state wants.
2. Take away all of the mandates that the state puts on counties and local municipalities and then kicks money back to them for compliance, the equation changes a bit.
3.

There were some articles on it at the time (I googled it). It was really more of a concern than anything based on fact. The problem is it's hard to move talent and cheap hydro power virtually assures high tech will be here for many years to come.

If anything the influx of high tech employees from other parts of the country and the spin offs from the industry has led to more Conservative minded people moving into the state and if taxes are an issue to so many high tech employees that also means a fair number of them are probably not very Liberal.

Regardless, state income tax will always be DOA here. Never gonna happen.

Big difference between being conservative, and being "conservative" only when it comes to your own pocket book!

You're right.... you went to Nathan Hale... which is also in Seattle. As for eastsiders being victims of the westsiders, how do live with yourself knowing you victimized those poor eastsiders most of your life. Seeing as you were a westsider....

Big deal, then it's Roosevelt or Hale.  Point is, you were born and raised in Seattle, and spent much of your working career as a metropolitan-Seattleite.  But now you think you have carte blanche to call names aimed at everyone who lives in the Puget Sound area by wrapping yourself in this eastern Washingtonian schtick.

I aiways thought that was strange myself hirshey. How many wolves were involved in your incident? It seems the lookout pack has been seen north, south, east and west of the Methow area. I thought the claim was that pack was down to only 2 wolves now. That's a lot of area and a lot of sightings for a pack of 2.

There are alot of unregistered voters and people that just don't vote. I think if Eastern WA folks would get out and vote and register to vote that that would help some too.
I am a westsider by location but that's about it.

Thanks for the wolf meeting report.

You are spot on in your analysis. I worked in the same building in N VA as the USFWS. I remember riding the elevator with USFWS  managers and employees. I would over hear conversations about wolf introductions and making hunting as a part of wildlife conservation obsolete. This progressive liberal USFWS service bureaucrats hated firearms and hunting and wanted the western states  to be a big national park .

The wolf agenda was started IMO to end or greatly reduce hunting opportunities.  Interesting when speaking with the wolf luvers to note almost all are for banning firearms too.

Yeah, it occurs to me that wolves are pretty good agents to enable the extreme Left to force social change in the areas they do not live in/dominate politically (and they work 24/7 for free!).  If the Left wants to force ranchers, outfitters and people who like to hunt, off the land in an area like the Rocky Mountains (Yellowstone to Yukon) they can get their crowd of pro-wolf people in cities to pass State laws that will make it happen.  After Federal depredation compensation dries up, they can use wolves, 'nonlethal control measure' requirements, phaseout of public land grazing etc. to raise the cost of ranching so that ranchers can't make a profit and sell their land to Lefty environmental groups or back to the Government.

Yes, some articles regarding it and also an NPR interview.  It was a while back.
