« on: January 28, 2013, 04:49:41 PM »
Wondering some peoples take on stabilizers wont be 3d shooting much more for hunting just wondering if anybody has tried differnt brands and preffered one over the other and why       I'm leaning towards the Doinker 5inch hunter  I'm putting it on a 2012 martin bengal

Doinker stabs are awesome. I have tried quite a few and I am now using a 12" Doinker dish. Don't plan on changing any time soon. I like to do a little 3d, if it was a strictly hunting setup I would recommend taking a look at the dish hunter.

Lots of options to look at.  I would recommend going to your local pro shop and shoot as many as you can with your bow.

Just don't confuse a stabilizer with a vibration dampener.  A lot of what is being sold as stabilizer these days would be better classified as a dampener.  Not that a dampener is a bad thing, in fact it is a good thing, just different.

Think twitching a "Rock on a stick".  Easy to do until the stick gets some length.

I'd say anything less than 8 inches tends to fall into the dampener category.  They also tend to be loaded with anti-vibration features.

I'd also say that with current short limb, short stroke, parallel limb designs, anti-vibe might be more interesting than stabilization...

my 2 cents....
