Went to the meeting and there wasn't much I wasn't already aware of, but I'd never seen Mike Jimenez speak and Seattle usually turns out some quirky folks, so it was somewhat worth the time.
It was mostly a pro-wolf crowd, but there were some antis who made their presence known. A source of frustration appeared to be the lack of discussion about predator/prey relationships and how wolf management is going to account for hunter concerns. The presentations were almost entirely geared toward wolf/rancher conflicts.
Mike and Carter are hands at this kind of stuff, but Donny is obviously new to the PR game. The biggest mistake I think he made was treating the topic of the Wedge Pack with kid gloves. He missed an opportunity to start preparing folks who don't know better that entire packs will be removed occasionally even in the best of circumstances.
My question was fortunately the second one answered. I asked how seriously they were considering translocation to the southern Cascades. Donny replied that they are considering it, but aren't in a position to do so at this time, and he believes it probably won't be necessary due to the current speed of recolonisation.
My head count was roughly 150 people + 1 wolf. I took a photo from the back of the room and will post it since no one's face is showing.
