After they took a look at the video I wonder if they are still claiming that first bear as a solid shoulder shot :chuckle:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I was thinking the same thing!  I think those long range guys just automatically say that every time.  Saw the best of the west guys wack an antelope in the rear one episode and same thing.  They cleaned him up pretty good but you could still see where it hit.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

Anyone else hear the guy who posing with the second bear say "it was an exciting hunt yesterday"? Apparently it takes a while to find a black bear after you shoot it at 750 yds at dusk. I will openly admit that it's better shooting than I could pull off. I just couldn't get into and question it ethically for this very reason.

I agree with BLRman, it looked like they hit it in the neck to me? That's close to a foot high and a foot to the left. You have to be one hell of a shot to do a follow up on a running wounded bear at 700yds.

Video does get me looking forward to spring bear though. I just don't plan on setting any world records on distance shooting and I hope that videos like this don't motivate the average hunter to start lobbing lead at animals because they saw some guys do it on Youtube. These guys obviouslly had the equipment and the basic know how to hunt like this.  I think 200yds will work for me though, if I end up getting to hunt spring bear.
