Cougar tracks?
« on: March 10, 2013, 10:23:12 AM »
Went up high on the tree farm yesterday to exercise the dog and saw a set of tracks coming down a little draw (picture 1).  Sets of 4 tracks, each set about 3 ft long, spaced a foot or two apart.  As the tracks approached a borrow pit, whatever it was started running and some of the paces were 10-15 ft apart (picture 2).    Last photo is one of the tracks next to my size 10 boot.  Given the low quality of the tracks I am hoping someone can ID based on size/pattern.  I've ever targeted cougar specifically, but always buy a tag in case an opportunity presents itself.

I skied 7 miles out and back and only cut 2 deer tracks and a couple of snowshoe hare.  If it is a cougar, not sure what he is finding to eat up there....

if they are there they will find it and eat it.  :bash:
