Need a little help, I'm looking for a good all around hunting dog. Only type I really know is beagles cause my neighbor breaded them. What do you guys recommend.

That's why I decided to get a cur.  It seams like the perfect all around dog.  I'm on the list to get a pup this spring!!!

My buddy has one. She can get pretty wild around the house, tons of energy. Great dog though and a natural born pointer.

My beagle was death on rabbits and knew no quit. He did pretty good on anything that left a scent but I've never seen a beagle that would wait on a flush. All of mine (and friends) were nearly uncontrolled hunters once released. Frequently the only way to retrieve them on a hunt was to get within about 5 feet and then they'd stop and roll over.

my best dog was a female cocker who could help me find the truck in the dark.  no kidding she was the best.  one time she got ahold of a wounded goose and it about drownded her before they got close to shore and we helped.  mike w

get a cur dog.  They can do most anything.  I have had my Blackmouth do water retrieves on ducks, coons, lions, bears, coyotes. bobcats.... I'm sure she could do small game.

She has also trashed on almost anything....  :o
