shotgun magazine extention question
« on: January 24, 2013, 09:02:18 PM »
Because of a gift card, I'm limited to a certain retailer.  I am looking for a 7rd magazine extension for my Remington 870.  They only have the 8rd magazine.  They have 7rd extensions for the Benelli Nova.  Will it fit or do the threads not match?

Pretty sure it's a no go, but I recently sold my 870 so I couldn't tell you for sure. Is there a reason you don't want the 8 round?  Also, on the 870, depending on the model be prepared to drill out the dimples that hold the follower in your current mag tube.  Not hard, but kind of pain.

Like the previous post said, what's wrong with an 8 round tube?

I went with the 7 round so the tube wouldn't stick past the barrel

The 7 round might have just been out of stock? Maybe check their website

I believe Remington makes a 3 round extension that threads right on to the original tube which should be a 4 round tube without the plug.

DoubleJ,  if your gift card is for Cabelas, you might check into the "special orders" option. They will get you pretty much anything. It doesn't have to be a regular item listed in their catalog.

Try this link:

This.  I bought the 8 rounder a few months ago from Cabelas and had to take it back because it stuck out about 2" past the end of the barrel
