Any ideas what this might be?
« on: January 24, 2013, 08:07:01 PM »
any one know what this is? my thought is a coyote pup but it just seems to small. comparing to the rabbit in the lower picture. it might possibly be the rabbit but it looks like it has a longer tail.

The second pic is definatly a bunny and the first looks the same.

I have no clue. Could be a cat. But could be anything, really. A ghost maybe?

Some sort of small dog with a collar.  Must be somebody's pet.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

My first thought was that both are the same cat with a reflective collar sticking out.

Housecat.  The collar is a dead giveaway.

If only Dman's cat had worn a collar, the thread wouldn't have been so much fun....... ;)

By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

My first thought was a collar as well, but then realized with the slow shutter speed, it could be a streaked eye reflection.

I think it is a Pine Marten ...In the 1st picture you can tell it has little ears and tou can kinda see its eyes ...even the face face is shaped like a Pine marten or Mink type animal . I have seen 2 Pine Martens in Western Washington ...One time I was late bowhunting in the snow ...and the road I went up had about a foot of snow on it and the tire tracks from other hunters going up were printed in the road . I started up the hill and I see this snow shoe rabbit pop up in front of my truck and then it stood up on its back legs looking at me when all the sudden I saw what I thought was a mink right behind it and it to was standing on its back legs looking at me ...I jumped out of my truck and it jumped in a tree right above my head ...After looking at it I could see orange coloring on it neck and belly ..it was cool to see ...It was a Pine Marten ! :twocents:

I'm gonna go with pine marten as well. That doesn't look like a collar to me, even looks like it could be a small antler in its mouth.

It's a rabbit. you can tell in the second picture. the thing that looks like a collar in the first pic is the reflection of it eye when it's hopping and the ears look like the head of a dog . that's why it looks rounded is because of the hopping motion. I am also willing to bet that if the photo was takin around December that rabbit would be white.
