Gentlemen: How much do you cook?
« on: January 25, 2013, 12:26:30 AM »
The husband and I both like to cook, so we probably split it pretty evenly overall.  I was just curious what the rest of the world is like these days (not that you necessarily represent the rest of the world  :chuckle:)

Oh, and I really wanted to try creating a poll...this is my first one.  Kinda fun.

Every other day.  We both used to be good cooks.  Don't know what has happend in the past 20 years, but we certainly have lost our touch.  It's as if even rice has changed it's molecular structure and can no longer be cooked the way it has always been done  :dunno:  I'm thinking we need to win the lotto so we can have a butler ;)
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I cook everyday. Both of my parents worked long hours growing up so I learned to cook at a young age and it's something I love doing.

Had to go with just 50.  Used to be 100%, but I am busy.  Still do just about anything that can be grilled.  So when its not stirfry night I am cooking something, but wife still cooks some veggies or something.

I cook fairly often but not as often as my wife.

The wife's favorite dish to make is Taco Bell, so I do all of the cooking. I'm an ex-chef and sell exotic foods for a living, so I get to use a lot of neat stuff like wild mushrooms, caviar, truffles, different oils and vinegars, etc.. I love preparing sauces and am not great with baking. Occasionally, I'll do a 6-8 course meal for family and friends, complete with wines, cheese courses, charcuterie. I love preparing game when I am fortunate enough to put some in the fridge. Lately, that includes geese only! There's always next archery season.

50/50 in our house. My wife cooks from the box or pouch. I cook from scratch. She forgets the onions and other vegetables, I start each meal with them. We are so different.

I would argue that outdoorsmen probably cook more than those guys who are not, just so we can learn to cook what we catch, or are able to cook for the guys when out in the backcountry.

My wife can't cook worth a darn. She can (and has) burnt corn......

I do 99% of the cooking in the house.

My wife would starve in stead of cook.

Once in a blue moon and I mean, once.... she will cook something palletable.
