Had a nice surprise last night! The wife went out and got the rifle I had been eyeing for some time! A kimber montana in 300 wsm! come on hunting season!!!
Any recommendation on glass to go on top?

For glass, I've become fond of the Leupold VX-3L series. A 4.5-14 would look pretty good on there. :twocents:

I had the VXIII 4.5-14X40 on mine and it was too heavy for the light gun.  I went Conquest and couldn't be happier.  Especially for $399.99!  Though mine is the .325 and I don't expect to be taking shots much past 350 yards with it (bought it for a grizzly hunt).  Although it is more than accurate enough for sure.  My most accurate hunting rifle after a few tweaks.

Great rifle, I was eyeing a used one in .325 WSM. They are very light quick rifles, you should be pleased.

I have a 4.5-14 lupy on mine, but I would go to a 2.5-8 lupy to keep the lightweight theme going.

Had one several years back in 7/08. Put a Leupol ultralite 3-9 in lightweight Talley's. Was a wisp when the going got steep and the air got thin! You'll love it! Good job to the wife, hang onto her! ;)

Not sure you will have this problem with the 300, but I had to have the magazine worked on to keep the bullets from damage due to the recoil.  It was bad enough that even the tips on Accubonds were splitting!  Lead tips on cheap Winchester ammo were being sheared off at the copper.  Gunsmith took care of it pretty quick.
