Caught this fella in the front yard
« on: January 25, 2013, 01:18:13 PM »
Every dog in the County poops in my yard. I've caught 4 so far. At first I would hose 'em down and sprinkle skunk juice on them before sending them home, but they always came back. Now I call animal services and they take a ride to the pound. I figure if the owner has to pay $ to get 'em back, they might keep 'em home.

Poor fella......I'd look embarrased too if the neighbors caught me (again) dropping a duece and caught me in a cage.

I have a couple trouble dogs as well, after the recent cat thread it seems I should man up and just shoot them, but I like your idea better.

Can I borrow your trap?

That's awesome. I've never understood why people just let their dogs run free in the neighborhood (rural or suburbs). I think it's terribly rude! Good for you for the dog wrangling!

Thanks head shot. Not as good as the classic but still worth reading.

Reminds me of the time years ago, when the lot that my house sits on now was grass, and a neighbor's dog used it as his morning bathroom.  One morning I saw him out there getting ready to do his thing.  I grabbed my slingshot, and a couple of marbles, and eased out the back door and saw him dropping a deuce.  I drew back on the slingshot and watched as the marble arched towards the dog, and hit him between the eyes.  It must have watered his eyes, because instead of running out of the driveway, he ran smack into the gate, which had wire fence fabric attached to it.  He bounced back, tumbling over bacwards, picked himself up, and ran out of the driveway.  He never came back into my yard again.  Even now, more than 30 years since, I still chuckle when I remember that poor guy running into the gate....  :chuckle:

Mixed emotions,   I'm old enough to remember when everyone had a dog and nobody owned a leash and neighbors still got along.  It was just part of life and no big deal.

Times have changed...................people too.........................but, not dogs. :chuckle:

I agree. I remember "back in the day" (I'm really dating myself here) everyone had a dog, they all ran loose and as far as I could remember, nobody complained. But today, not so much :nono:

probably because back in the day people cleaned up after their dogs.   :)  I love dogs, and I hate keeping my dogs on a leash. I always clean up after my dog right away. especially in my yard.  pisses me off when other people let their dog crap in my yard.   :bash:

Don't get me wrong, I love dogs. My dogs are leashed, in their pen, or in the house. When I take them out, they go to their "pooping spot" in the yard to do their business.
Maybe if the neighbor dogs would use the "pooping spot" it wouldn't be so bad, but I really hate surprises off the front porch.
I ran a hot wire (with peanut butter smeared on it) across the front of the property, I have left notes on front doors and spoken to these people in person, but the problem continues. In fact, I expect the problem to continue when the dog comes home. People like that rarely change.
