Is buying guns at a buy back legal?
« on: January 25, 2013, 11:13:58 PM »
I was just thinking about seattles gun buy back tomorrow. Would it be legal to go there with a sign and buy guns for double what the city is paying?

I'm sure the ATF would take some interest in you.

I think it would be legal, but there might be a federal law that limits the number of guns you can buy at once. I would call the County Sherriff or City Chief of Police and ask if it's against the law, and if they say it is then ask them to cite the law.

Maybe you could make money two ways. First by buying and reselling the guns and secondly when Seattle pd roughs you up? That's thier mo right?

I want to know how this goes! I've considered it but DONT like the idea of sitting in jail for exercising what is still a right. Maybe you could find the gun you like, offer cash and suggest the official transfer takes place at another location? I private parking lot or something?

Just read this:
"The buyback effort took in a lot of guns, but the sponsors ran out of the gift certificates they were handing out in exchange for the guns turned in and there was a steady business on the street by people buying guns from those standing in line, even before they had a chance to exchange their guns for a gift certificate."
