fallaway rest

Well i have a very trophy taker fall away rest but am thinking of getting a different one.

im thinking of geting the limbsaver fall away rest but am open to other options.....

does anyone have an idea of what would the best rest to get and why? or maybe i should just stay with my rest that i have?

what do you guys think?

If it is working fine for you I would leave it alone, I use a QAD that I really like and works well for me

If it works fine I would leave it a lone too.

I use the Mathews HD2 convertible fall away and it works good for me.  I like the Harmonic dampeners in it.

Trophy Taker is a great rest.... wouldn't change it.

Trophy Ridge Guide Series Dropzone with the whisper kit is what I have on my Truth 2. Never had an arrow fall off, and it drops fast enough for the speed of the Truth 2...

I would stick with the Trophy Taker it has served me well for 5 years, simple and dependable but but if you're set on a change the Sims would be my choice.

Stick with the Trophy Taker!!!  I still have one of the original ones (well over 10 years old) and still wouldnt trade it for anything.  It was so long ago that I had to special order it from Mr. Evans himself because none of the shops around here carried or even knew about them.

Spot Hogg Whammy!  Best fall away on the market!  IMO... Used the trophy taker for 4 years and loved it but the whammy is definetly a better solution!  Drops 5x faster and stays in the upright postion at all times so if the cord breaks you can still shoot it as a prong rest.

I have a QAD Ultra Rest HD on my new bow and this thing is awesome,I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fallaway rest with the added security of fully containing your arrow.I had A Trophy Ridge Drop Zone and loved it ,great rest,but put them side by side I would take the QAD hands down.

Just switched from a NAP fall away to a TT Shakey Hunter recently.  I like it for the simplicity and the fact that it is well made.

I'm not sure anyone has asked, but what has prompted you to switch?  Are you have issues?  maybe we can dial you in with the rest you have.

What archery288 said plus those trophy takers didn't look as durable to me as the Spot Hogg Whammy. I believe if you go to their website you can see a video of how this rest is different from the typical fallaway rests.

I would stick with the Trophy Taker, they are virtually indestructable. No set screws to come loose, prongs to bend. JMHO

The Whammy is no-doubt a great rest.  Those guys make great products.  The Trophy Taker rests are also of excellent quality, as are NAP and others.  It comes down to personal preference and what works best with your set-up and shooting style.

Just saw the post. I have been shooting the limbsaver along with their bow. The rest is good but could use some reference lines to tell how much you are moving it. I had to scratch some marks on it so I had some reference.

I was using the rip cord for a couple years until it cost me a really nice 4x4 Muley last year in the late hunt over at Banks Lake. It was very cold in the morning. The rest froze up on me and didn't fall away. Arrow fletch tore and the arrow flew left and trimmed his butt hair. It's in the garbage can now. Trophy taker is what I am using now. Broadheads are grouping out to 90 yards. Seems to be working well.

I had the same problem over whitetail hunting... Sitting in zero degree temperatures for 7 or so days in a row with snow falling everyday and it melting in to the rest and then freezing because it's well below freezing... Well you get the drift!  It cost me a hawg of a whitetail because the rest froze solid and then popped up and didn't fall away... Hence the reason I am not using a trophy taker anymore...

The Spot Hogg Whammy now... Never had that one freeze up!  Been using it for 2 years now.  And the part I like about it is if it did for some reason freeze, you could shoot it as a prong rest.  Whether the prong would work spring loaded or not would the the only question but at least its up right and you know your arrow is gonna go through it.  And also if the cord were to break on any other fall away it wouldn't work.  Another plus of the whammy, it will still work if the cord breaks..

I cant wait to get a new bow set up with the Whammy! I have had my trophy taker for ever and a day and love it. I like the way the whammy is set up, kinda covers all the bases if something were to go wrong and trust me things go wrong when you dont need them too.

My vote would be to stick with the trophy taker line up and get the new extreme tt.  The full containment fall away is the ticket in the woods.  Hey when the moment of truth arrives and you are shaking like crazy.  You don't want to have the arrow fall of the tiny little lizard tongue. 

I currently shoot the qad ultra rest, but will be going back to trophy taker next season.  I like the qad.  Especially for the containment, but I trust trophy taker more.

 My opinion might not matter much yet but I use the HD convertable on my Mathews and it's been flawless so far. Not sure what kind of bow we're talking about but if the HD won't fit I would go with the Whammy. If you go with the TT full containment get the new version that has the opening on top. The angled version seemed to be a pain to load your arrow into.

Same type of thing happened twice to me on the same day, but luckily it was in my back yard shooting at a 3-D.  Called Rip-Cord and they said that they had never heard of the problem before, so I must be knocking my arrow wrong....give me a break  !  Switched to Trophy Ridge Drop Zone and couldn't be happier.

I've used Trophy taker, Trophy taker Shaky Hunter,  and Drop Zone rests.  They are all nice, but I really like the Drop Zone best.
