Gonna head back out to Washington this Friday, to see if I can find some more smallies. Anyone else going after them this winter ?

I have what I call an entry level bass boat, lol. I would feel fine taking it out to a bigger lake like Lake Washington in the winter, or Sammamish, but I do not have the know how and do not feel like drifting around aimlessly in hopes to catch a fish.

So, I will wait until the weather gets a little warmer and fish some smaller lakes. Heck, I would not have a clue where to launch or fish Washington :dunno:

bwhntr350: If you have electronics you're ready to go! Launch on Sammamish and motor around searching the 45-60' range looking for rocks, use 3/4oz football heads with hula type grubs in green and brown, drag them or cast and drag them back to the boat, if you lose bottom contact for no reason set the hook! Also take your drop shot rig and a pack of Roboworms in various colors and Panic minnows in a natural shad type color, dress warm and ENJOY!

OP, I haven't been out yet, been rigging up a Jon boat for the coming season so I can legally fish the small waters this year! I never stop bassin' regardless of time of year or weather! Fished in the snow, hail, had to chip ice off my rigs and dig flourocarbon out of my frozen fingertips more times than I care to count! The largies are more of a challenge this time of year and I usually target them to challenge myself, but I will be hitting Lake Sammamish for some smallie action next week!

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated. I read lots of reports on this site a last year for elk, and a new area I was going to hunt, there were some awesome pics of some huge bulls and bucks..I didnt even know this site had a fishing section until two weeks ago. On the elk site, all the guys seemed like a good group of hunters with some great input also , and some not so..lol Either way when I found this Fishing portion, I wanted to get on the board and spread the word on bass fishing...when I get a chance. Russ, I will post you when I am rolling solo in the near future, got a buddy going this week, holler at you soon.  Squatch,,, sounds like you been around the block a few times , you got it word for word on the winter gig...I got on the other websites you all posted pages...Best regards, much appreciated guys.
