Interesting. I bet the WDFW would like to know about that. Maybe they've already been notified. Personally I am glad they killed the cougars. Still not right to trespass though, and it could end up being very expensive for them. Especially with that new hunting while trespassing law.

They deleted the thread. In summary, someone living up the Poorman Cr Rd was accusing his neighbor of trespassing on his property, installing trail cams and shooting 3 juvenile cougars. Then of course all the tree huggers in the Methow were forming a lynch mob using just the original post as evidence.

I talked to the guy that shot the cougars and I don't think he knew it was private property.  Those cougars were living in a culvert that the irrigation ditch flowed through.  the ditch was just below the steep Poorman ck. road.  The purpose of the culvet was to prevent the road sluff from sliding down into the irrigation ditch. I can see how a person could easily think it was ok. since you can't see any house and it's just in the woods and no fences or signs.   Those were juveniles but fairly good sized. I estimate the male at about 100 lbs and the two females at around 75 so they had been abandoned by the mom but were still hunting together.  Glad to see them go since they were hanging around close to civilization looking for trouble.

I think it would be wise if we had a topic to let everyone see this new trespass law. Sounds like something we need to make everyone aware of. Does anyone know where to get the language and post it in a new topic?

Did one guy kill all three? That looks like that would be trouble right there.

I know a guy who lives over that away that has a picture on facebook of him,his daughter and another young fellow with 3 dead cougars and three hunters with three guns, don't know if it's related to this tresspassing incident or not but the guy has always been a by the book hunter.

Why? There's no shortage of cats. However, there is a shortage of mule deer. Think how many deer they saved by killing all three.

To me thats being alittle greedy ...if I had 3 cats standing side by side I would not kill them all ...I actually like seeing cougars  now if they were wolves ....well brake out the R15  :chuckle: :chuckle: :mgun:
