Axis Deer is melt in your mouth yummy.  No better in my opinion.   Elk in a close 2nd.

Really?  I've never had one that tasted like sagebrush.  :dunno:   Course, I guess I really don't know what sagebrush tastes like as I've never tried it.


sagebrush tastes like chicken :chuckle:we used to cook some backstraps over sage coals it was awesome

Dall Sheep, Yummy, Yummy!  2nd would be Elk, 3rd Buffalo, 4th Moose, 5th Bou, of course the little Black Tail sure was tasty..  Hmmmm, Guess I have to take another this season to make certain....  One day I'm going to try Muskox............... AK F & G keeping me from it for the past eight dawings......... :chuckle:

wild Pork is the best. I've had Axis, Mouflon, Goat, Moose, Caribou, Elk, Blacktail. Grew up hunting in Hawaii we went pig hunting 2-3 times a month.
