The #4 buckshot will give a much denser pattern than the 00 buck. It's 40 some pellets versus about a dozen. #4 buck is the way to go IMO. I actually use BB's when I hunt with a shotgun, but that's mainly just because I have a lot of them.

:yeah: #4 works like a bomb!

I've killed em at 40 yardes with 0 buck with my 18 in home defender barrel... and 70 yards with my bird barrel. I haven't had as much luck with 4 buck at 70 ish yards tho...
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I've always been a "T" shot guy for dogs.  Though I've been a bit disappointed in the Dead Coyote.  I'd go Remington HD "T" if I were using the shotgun for dogs these days.
I am shooting a 40 year old Winchester 1200 no choke.  Buckshot was scattered poor pattern.  Dead Coyote 3"  nice pattern 50 yards.  Works well with Texas heart shots if the dog is close and on the run.  I am not a shotgun expert.  ? why my shotgun patterned better with the Dead Coyote.  kind of expensive stuff so I only shoot it when hunting.

It wouldn't. 10 yards would be pushing it.
