Killer Cat
« on: February 01, 2013, 09:33:24 AM »
Went out to feed my birds this morning, feathers every where and all the birds are dead, peacock, golden pheasant and chickens. Couldn't find a hole in the pen fence, even over the top, the snow is dry and deep so couldn't see what kind of  track. Went into the chicken coup, nothing but dead birds. There was a board laying across a corner, I reached down and moved it, a bob cat came flying out, brushed me on the way by. It was still in the coup as I went to the house after a gun but when I got back it had gone. The only thing it ate was some of the peacock, the rest of the birds were just killed. Once before a bob cat got into the pen and killed every thing, just fun killing, what a waste

So, you had a board in your hand and a bobcat in the coop and you didn't beat the crap out of it with the board?   :dunno:  Man, my adrenaline would of been too high not to.  I once busted the stock on my old 870 smashing a coons head after I hit him with a load of 7s that didn't kill him and I was out of ammo.   :yike:
My favorite chicken was still flopping nearby.   >:(

Sorry to hear about the loss.  At least you can still eat them.

Get some more birds and set up an ambush for him.  He'll be back!   And with the price of Bobcat pelts being way up, that will buy a lot of birds...
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Sorry to hear that, they tend to really wipe out bird populations. I know they are also hell on house cats.
