Turkeys in the fall
KCCO

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.
Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms, 1929

This buck still haunts me to this day. I was very close to killing him. Never could turn him up this year.

The first pic is a nice respectable five point and the second was 17 5 point or better bulls in a herd. During a scouting trip in June for my cow hunt for late modern. Not a clear pic of the herd and not all visible due to trees but that was unreal to watch that many bulls.
Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.
