I lived there the first 25yrs of my life and got the hell out in 1985 :IBCOOL: Had to have a firearms purchasers card to buy rifles and shotguns and any ammo that could also be used in a handgun like .22lr had to be registered when purchased. Buying handguns was a major pain in the @ss.

Lived in NJ until 1991. All of my family is still there. Gun laws are so strict there I didn't think they could get any tighter except to ban everything. The deer are out of control there because no one hunts unless your into bowhunting. I used to go to my grandparents house in PA to hunt instead.

In addition to violating several clauses in the Constitution...NJ has taken a bite of the chit sandwich.  It would be SO fitting if the firearms manufacturers and ammo makers would refuse to do business in NJ due to added costs and constitutional infringements.  Ala Ronnie Barrett and the PDRK. (that would be the Peoples Democratic Republik of Kalipornia)

Whatta ya mean I can't have one of each?

What we have here is...Washington Department of NO Fish and WATCHABLE Wildlife.

WDFW is going farther and farther backwards....we need FISH AND GAME back!

Don't forget the diameter of a 12 gauge shotgun shell. They too are .50cal or larger. They already declared a revolving shotgun as a destructive device and has to be registered to own.      The "Street Sweeper" shotgun made by RPB industries. So shotgun would be banned also. Oh and what about .50 cal muzzleloaders?
I think muzzleloaders are under antique firearms not firearms so they would still be legal.  Also think that smoothbores arent' targeted.  CA, however, proposes updating their definition of shotgun to define guns like cattleman's carbines and the judge so they can control it as either a handgun or shotgun, and in theory ban it based on short barrel or revolving drum (cylinder).
looks like that is the agenda only let us keep if we have em muzszloe loaders. I say to heck with em rise america rise.
