There's good advice to be found on this site and plenty of good people who offer it. Having said that, three posts over a couple months all of which asking for hunting spots or private land access isn't likely to yield results. Introduce yourself. Let people get to know you. I don't know the areas you're trying to get info on but I think what you're asking for is a long shot.

For turkey success you got to go where the birds are and unfortunately thats the far side of the state. Unless looking for a needle in a haystack is your thing.

Try around cle elum and ellensburg. Just like deer or elk hunting you are going to have to put in the leg work and time.

This is good advice if you don't want to go as far as Republic or farther East. They are all over the far Northeast corner of the state. Tons of fun, but I go over that far just to be there. Game is icing on the cake.

The westside phantoms (Easterns) are not as plentiful or talkative as the Merriams & Rios you'll find on the eastside.  You can also only shoot one Eastern in the spring season only, whereas you can take 2 eastside birds in the spring, plus more in the early and late fall seasons. Easterns will take a lot of time to find and pattern (ie - shoe leather).  Eastside birds are easier to find and pattern, but they also will take at least some "scouting" ... and the way to get private land is to stop and ask  usually away from the main highways & byways ...  rural eastsiders are usually very friendly and open especially the further away from the major travelfares you get.  You can find eastside birds down the eastside of the Cascades, but the greatest number of birds harvested by far is in the NE corner of the state. My suggest is to go east for at least one day before the season.  Good luck.

Never hunted Cle Elum/Ellensburg area ... usually just Stevens, Ferry and Lincoln Counry (further east).

If I was you, I would contact the game warden and/or forest rangers in the area you want to go and pick their brains for info oof where to start (they usually are very helpfull  ... also local UPS or other local delivery drivers often are helpful.  Your buddies may also have friends and/or family in the area which is always a plus ... I've even got great info from motel personnel, waitresses, store clerks, etc.

I would stop my truck in good looking areas, walk at leat a hundred yards out, and use a locator call or two. Check for droppings, feathers, tracks, or other signs the birds are frequenting the area. The more time and shoe leather you devote now means greater chance of success later.

Ellensburg and Cle elum areas are great places to start but if you dont have the experience or know where the birds are it will be easy to get discouraged however it is fun because for the most part after opening weekend theres not a lot of pressure and it gives you an oppurtunity to work the birds without worrying about someone busting the bird your working on

If you want a favorable bird to hunter ratio I would suggest NE, SE or the Klickitat area.  If you want to hunt an area with more people than birds go for the E-burg, Teanaway areas.  Good luck

There is a lot of public land in Klickitat county. Check the county assessor's page.

Like klickman said accessors page for the county is a great tool. I use it weekly. When people say Klickitat they are generally talking about the area north of Goldendale. If you go north of Goldendale you have to stay on the west side of highway 97 if hunting the WPT land.

:yeah: to the 2 above. I would add to klicks that there is lots of public ground is 388 of the klickitat units. 382 has very little public ground. Most of the old walk in hunting areas like wpt is all closed now and you will get a heck of a ticket if hunting on it. I have spent many years hunting birds in 388 and there is a good number of birds but there will be competition and they get educated very quick.

You have had plenty of bones thrown at you, use one and find some birds to hunt.   Don't expect a free handout.
