Some times it's best to read the regs before asking questions, if not found then ask.

The regs at times can be confusing.  :twocents:
Plus, I like to keep it interesting, Keep people laughing at my expense :)

Smossy the question was answered in your other thread.

http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,117392.msg1546656.html#msg1546656
About bears????? O_o

then why can you leave the meat to the yotes? Not a game violation to let it lay.
Bears are game animals.

(3) It is unlawful to hunt game birds or game animals, except bullfrogs, in a manner other than with a firearm, a bow and arrow, or by falconry, except in those designated areas where crossbows are allowed.

Just say you weren't hunting with the spear. You were just going for a walk and the bear attacked. Luckily you had a spear to defend yourself.

Same excuse I think my brother was going to use if he got caught shooting grouse with a slingshot.

Don't laugh to hard, a North Cascades National Park summer worker of the male type called in once on the trail asking for help because a grouse was attacking his head when he tried to walk bye it!  :yike:

Oh I loved all the stories from there when my wife was a park ranger.

I think you can.  You just have to use a really big 'arrow' to spear the bear.  It has to have the minimum weight and cutting edge.  I would say you probably need a bow with you that has min draw weight/etc.  Then just spear it with your 'arrow'.  I don't know that it says the 'arrow' actually has to be shot from the bow. ;)

Like others have said, it is illegal in WA. Several years ago someone posted a youtube video of them doing it in Pierce County. Didn't end up well for them...
