black eagle deep impact .250 spine
« on: January 26, 2013, 10:00:38 AM »
i just won a dozen of these and figured i should do a review of my findings as i go.i am really excited about these shafts due to being long drawn(31'').i have a hard time gettin arrows to spine right and have the characteristics i am looking for.
with the help of radsav i decided to cut them at 30 1/2 carbon to carbon with four 2''hp vanetec vanes in a right helical with the standard aerooutsert and standard nock with a 125 point. for a total weight of 475. i will be using my newly tuned moxie at 75 lbs draw weight.
i just recieved my bow back as of yesterday so i have only had a chance to shoot them through paper so far.my left to rights were perfect.i have an ever so slight nock low that i believe is due to my rest being tuned to a fatter target arrow at the moment.
i will be throwing on a few of my broadheads next weekend and doing some longer range testing after i adjust the rest to accommodate the thinner shaft.

Right on. Let us know bow you like them. I have been shooting the black eagle carnivores for a while now and they are great. I wanted to pick up some of the deep impact for hunting but both of the ranges near me use the compressed carpet targets. I am not sure bow well they will pull out with the outsert. Let me know what kind of target you are shooting at and how easy they pull.

Black Eagle Arrows are great. I hunted with the Rampage 350 last year. I used the Deep Impact 500 for my outdoor arrows and shot some of my best scores ever Im also shooting the Magnums for indoors.

well ive been shootin these for a week or so now.i am abusing the crap out of em n am super impressed with their durability.ive ive had to dig one out of my tree 2 times now with no signs of damage to the shaft or insert. i have yet to shoot any farther than 20 yards but they fly great at these distances.i fletched 6 up with four 2 inch hp vanetecs to try with some broadheads n fletched 6 up with some super low profile aae vanes for target n both fly great so far.i have some grizz tricks comin to see if i really need 4 vanes to stabilize them

I talked to the guy that makes them a while back and he said to just make sure everything is cleaned with acetone and use a medium set epoxy and to set the arrows straight up while drying. Nothing real special. Just dont lay them down while they dry or they can be off a little.

Right on. I do my own too. It is kind of fun. You can make sure it is done right. The az mini is a great tool. That is what I use. It puts a real nice twist on blazers.
