Keep the maxxis31/  Speed isnt that important.  Focus on improving your arrow tech. :twocents:

Maxis is a good shooting bow.  You could step up to a spyder Turbo ATA speed of 340.

How much more speed are you looking to get? I agree with D-Rock the spyder turbo might be a good option. I looked hard at the Vector Turbo for fun last year but couldnt get one to tune for me ( setup 2 ).... felt great, but I couldnt give up my maxxis for it. ( dunno I could give it up for any bow  :chuckle: ) Not sure if it was the bows themselves or the 6 in brace height was affecting me. Either way i decided against it.

for me if I was looking for straight speed I would look at Bowtech.

I love my maxis 31. It has taken second shelf to my new carbon matrix. I like the longer ata. I agree with mudman. Speed is overrated. How much more than 310 fps do you need?
If we were supposed to be vegetarian God would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!
"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

It will be hard for me to replace my Alpha Max 32. That being said as soon as someone developed a bow that weighs less than 4.0 lbs, has a 7" brace height shoots 340fps or faster and is as smooth and quiet as my AM32 then I'll buy it.  Bowtech had one last year (the Invasion CPX) but they discontinued it. Wonder if they had limb issues again :dunno:

Question how does a 6" BH feel? Are they pretty forgiving now adays or should I stick to a 7" BH.

Ive had bows from 5 1/2in bh to 7 1/2.........I personally shoot much better with a longer bh.  I have watched many shooters go from above average to below average shots as they sought more speed.

SLower longer bh bow , I am ultimately more consistent when taking shots from awkward positions.

Good info thanks. I have only had a 7" BH and I know my AM32 is very forgiving. Ive heard that a 6" is less forgiving but I don't know how much less forgiving since I've never shot a 6" BH other than a few times in a bow shop.

If you have a long draw then i'd stick to a 7 inch brace hieght just more forgiving and in a hunting situation it may pay off .

Is a 26.5-27" draw length considered long  :chuckle:

Yup, sorry.  I threw mine away after the third set of limbs and it never did paper tune and warranty told me I had to use a whisker bisquit because that is what its designed for.  No credit no replacement just a polite go to H--!!!  Sorry I will bad mouth that and I do have proof.  Google Tomkats and you will learn what I speak of.

When did bowtech NOT have limb issues?

About every day since Savage took them over.  Best thing they ever did was decide saving a buck on limbs was not worth it.  Bowtech put a lot of money and effort into the design of the new laminated limbs.  Even their machined limbs are a different animal than they used to be.

Invasion was replaced by the new Experience.  It's a little heavier and a few fps slower than the Invasion, but engineered with more proven riser geometry.  Feels better at the shot too.  Much better than changing the name and the paint job, adding a few more holes and calling it a new bow like so many others have done.

Bowtech still does have some of the old customer-no-service people left over.  And that's a shame.  But if you are judging Bowtech by the days of the Tomkat (2006) you might as well complain about Hyundai because you get a lemon Isuzu.  It would make about as much sense.  It's just not the same bow or company these days.

The Invasion was IMHO the perfect bow. It met all my criteria that must he met for me to replace my current bow.  Musts: weigh less than 4.0lbs. Be smooth as ice, and feel dead in the hand, super quiet. Shoulds: 7" BH 32-35" ATA, and an IBO of at least 340fps.

My current bow meets all of this criteria but shoots only 321fps and since I have midget arms that equates to a truest velocity of 265fps with a 424grain arrow. No complaints though. I love my Alpha Max 32

I have been reading up on the Carbon Element with RKT cams. I need to stop doing that of I might buy one. Ebay has some pretty good prices.  :yike:  Must stay strong, must stay strong.

The greatest season of my life was when I shot a Golden Eagle at 205 fps.  If you have a rangefinder speed matters very little.  Confidence in your equipment means far more!

I was disappointed to see the new Experience increase weight over the Invasion.  Though I felt the improvement in balance made it a wash.  My arm seems to like it better even though it's a good four ounces heavier.

I know you are probably right.  Im just sore about it.  500$ is lot of money and warranty manager made it personal with his rudeness.  I know they make some good bows today.  I just wont support them again regardless.  I hope they have better service now.

Yeah I agree. I love my Alpha Max way to much to give it up. Plus I figured out a way to bump up my speed by about 12-15fps, and I'm not talking about using a lighter arrow.

Long story short. Getting rid of my XTR cams that come on my 2009 Hoyt Alpha Max and replacing them with 2013 RKT cams. Guys are taking this bow from an IBO of 321 to 335. Just by swapping cams.

I'm not sure if you'd really gain anything by switching from your Maxxis 31 to anything. You're already shooting a relatively fast bow. Also, I don't go by advertized speeds as they seem to be very over rated. Since we have to shoot 6gr per lb of draw weight, I go by what my Pro Chrono tells me with a hunting weight arrow since that's what really matters.

Your 323 hoyt is as fast or faster than most 332 rated bows on the market. I would save the $800 and get the best acc. on the market. You will end up spending less and will have an awesome hunting setup.  :twocents:
