Vortex Viper HD 10x42 or 10x50?
« on: February 23, 2013, 12:54:09 PM »
I've pretty much have decided to go with the Viper HD's but I am having trouble deciding on the 10x42’s or the 10x50’s. I do most of my hunting in units 162 and 163 and shed hunt the Blues. As a bow hunter, and can’t decide which ones to go with the smaller or larger ones. But, I need the larger ones for shed hunting. Maybe someone who has one of these models could give me some recommendations. Thanks for the help!

I hunt in 162 and have the 10x42. They work great for me. Just depends on the type of hunting you do. I like the 42 less weight for lots of hiking.

Thanks Roperfive! In the blues, its all spot and stalk and sitting at the ponds and wallows in the evening, same thing in 163, so I pretty much do it all. I need a pair of binos to cover it all.

Thanks guys! Which ones would gather the most light in a low light situation? That's the deal breaker.

the bigger the second number the better light gathering capabilities it will have!
