The guy lost me when he started balling 20 minutes in.

When the plane flew over?  Lost me too.
I'd still be on cloud nine at the whole adventure, and I'd be busier than a two tailed beaver  :chuckle:

Yep....out there less than a week at that point...it's going to be a long three months for this guy......pretty sure he will cry uncle before it's over if he is crying like a baby in the first week.

Hes not a woodsman, a survial expert, or a hunter.
Hes your average guy trying to see if he has what it takes. Really guys? gonna bash him already. Give the guy some credit.

Didn't he say he climbed Everest? Did you see all that gear? the guy is hardly roughing it and he isn't exactly a complete greenhorn.

So being a hiker makes him an expert at surviving in the woods? No one said hes a greenhorn, but hes not your average bear grylls either.
Obviously if you plan on living in the woods for a few months your going to go prepared.
All Im saying is give the guy credit. Hes achieving life goals.

If he makes it the full time I will give him credit otherwise he just gets partial credit  :chuckle:. Sorry, but in the real world not everyone gets a medal just for signing up...you have to make it to the finish line and sometimes you have to be the first few to cross that line.... One time I decided to do a 100K trail ultra marathon with no training...just to see if I could do it... I made it 85K and I was mentally and physically destroyed... I didn't finish.... I didn't get credit...only thing I ever quit at in my life but it didn't matter... I was a quitter... that's life... :twocents: ...But I didn't ball like a baby....felt like it though..  :chuckle:

Lol naw no medal. Just a pat on the back. I hope one day I have the balls to head out for even a week on my own. Goodjob bro for attempting it "The marathon" Id never be able to do even what you did. . See how easy that is? haha
Hes in the middle of canadas wilderness. With no one else. Its harsh on your mentality man. I did notice he has a "SPOT" on his shoulder though. Dont think I would have attempted what he is without one myself.

And you didnt get credit, because there was TONS of people doing it. Its a marathon.
There isnt 100 people who go out into absolute remote wilderness at a time. and Looks for a finish line. I havent finished the video but hes made it a month. Its rough yeah. Its a sense of being out of your comfort zone. I dont think he does this on a reguler basis like your average TV stars do.

:chuckle: I just returned from the field today (albeit wasn't that tough of living at this point in my life)... This is what I do:
NRA Life of Duty SERE

Some of these guys in this video are trainees and haven't or didn't make the cut. We have two classes a year... this past summer we graduated zero with 60 that started (that doesn't count all the guys that tried selection and failed to make the first cut). This course is six months... the current class started with 62 the first week of January..as of this morning I believe they had 22 left..... Probably less than that tonight.

So yeah...I say that in my nice warm home.

Lol I wasnt trying to bash YOU brotha. I was just teasin. Props to whatever you do thats wilderness related. Im a bum, and its extremely depressing. Cabin fever has hit me hard very hard. I live half way in a city with the wilderness just outside my grasp. I would love nothing more then to attempt to live in the wild for even a short amount of time.

But just because your as strong, or stronger then this guy or other individuals doesn't mean you have to be negative and be like "oh well in Vietnam I slept 4 nights in a row with agent orange along side orangutans. lol Ya get what I'm sayin? Show support for people that actually try. Its about being positive, Not knocking someone because they don't live up to YOUR abilities.

I wouldn't attempt this without a sat phone or satcom signaling device device either...but knowing I have that would make me feel much less isolated.

I'm not saying the guy doesn't have some mettle...I'm just saying if he is crying from the isolation in a week he isn't going to make it three months....that is some pretty severe psychological duress he is feeling if he is that upset in the first week... he also seems far too freaked out about bears to make it three months without cracking... If he climbed Everest I am sure the guy is tough as nails.
