But just because your as strong, or stronger then this guy or other individuals doesn't mean you have to be negative and be like "oh well in Vietnam I slept 4 nights in a row with agent orange along side orangutans. lol Ya get what I'm sayin? Show support for people that actually try. Its about being positive, Not knocking someone because they don't live up to YOUR abilities.

I'm not even sure I could make it because I never tried...(though I do know I wouldn't be crying because I miss my mommy the first week..I would at least wait until day eight  :chuckle:).....In reality...not really trying to knock the guy...just saying he lost me when he did that so early because I feel like if I were to continue watching I will see him fail (I'd rather see him succeed)...either that...or he is being overly dramatic to hollywood it up a little bit which doesn't interest me either.... getting ready to watch that second guy...hope he is better.
Lol not sure why that post actually made me smile from ear to ear but man.  Some people take it harder then others. I know I was messed up for the first week of my incerceration, after that I dont have the mindset to even think about anyone or anything else but where Im at. I live with depression specialy this time of year, I get sad and cry over *censored* like "Not being able to leave, because my car doesnt have a working heater" Like... lol wtf? I can fully understand if a dudes crying a few days or a week out. Guess Im a softy or whatever you want to call it. But EVERYONE is different.

If we want to start compairing life I lived in a maximum security prison for upwords of 3 years not knowing what was around every corner. Theres people who want you dead just because you want no part of them. Skinheads for example. Im not a racist, Nor will I ever be. I was 20 years old and had problems right from the get-go, You have no friends, No family, Nobody to comfort you, Its one of the most caustic enviornments I can think of. I lived in a 5x6 cell for 3 months on administrative segregation and never got let out unless it was for a shower, Which you get twice a week. No sunlight, No windows.
You get fed RAW potatos and bread. We can all say "oh were tough" but every situation is different.

That's a rough life for sure. Part of my job is teaching people how to survive captivity. I have never had to do it in real life... I hope I never have too either. We use role play...far from the real thing...but not a fun experience. That being said I have researched captivity extensively (16+ years) and spoken, read and listened to many prisoners of war, hostages and governmental detainees. I can certainly understand the challenges.
So your a teacher, in sense? Where do you do all that at? Ive been wanting to take a primitive survival class for awhile now. I want to know what I can and cannot eat in the wild. How to identify and track animals. Etc.

Yes...my job involves a lot of teaching.. I am in the Air Force. We do it all over the world but we all start out right here in eastern Washington.

Well, I took him as an actor with that crying and bumbling around.

Honestly, I think he's probably got a lot more going on than he shows on film.   It would be a boring show if he were an expert huh?
This is reality TV - and it's got to have some drama.

So the crying, and him portraying himself as a greenhorn is just for TV viewers.  He's got a well laid out plan and knows what he's doing.

Theres always going to be people who believe in that. None the less. AGAIN, hes an inspiration. I take it for what I see, not for what "I think" is going on. Because Ive been there. Just days away from family with absolutely no grasp on whats going on.  Horribly destroyed because I couldnt see them If I wanted.

Actually..your situation was much harder...all this guy has to do is make a call on his sat phone (I'm making an educated guess that he has one) and they will have him out of there pronto.
Harder, easier. Dont know, Some people will say its EASY because you get three meals a day and a place to sleep. That dont mean SQUAT to me. People dont relize how petrifying it can be behind the walls. I was sent to walla walla state penitentory at 20. Got into fights, threatend to be stabbed a few times. When I was in solitary confinement I lived 2 wings away from the green river killer "gary ridgeway" or however you spell his name. Ive  been among some of the most violent people our state has to offer. My celly for 6 months was dominique maldinado. The tacoma mall shooter. and In all reality, he SEEMED like a good guy. A good guy doing 163 years or something. He ceased to be my celly when 2 correctional officers placed broken razor blades under his bunk. "When you live with someone you know" I know, he didnt have them there. Dunno; worlds crazy. Im kind-of on a half 3 beer drunken rant now lol.
Man prison was crazy. Dont ever go there haha

I can understand going through bouts of depression in captivity and bouncing back. What this guy is doing is difficult but doesn't hold a candle to being held captive....this guy is free and one day of freedom is always better than one day of captivity.  :twocents:
