I've hit them as early as April, but May to June is when I really start wacking them. I'll start fishing for them when lakes open. Fish for trout and have at least one Kokanee set up out.

I fish for the silvers in Riffe every year but have yet to go after kokanee.

Buddy of mine slow trolls a little "koke candy"....it is like a wedding ring with spinner. Almost looks to me like a worm rig for walley. Most stores will have a section for kokes...just think "tiny salmon".

Possibly. My local lake is legal for chumming as well. Most people troll but a few drift with the occasional scoop of chum tossed over the side.
