Hey we have a table and a pop-up canopy to add to the list.  Our crab rings aren't setup for boats they're just rings we'll be tossing off a dock or something that's there :)

I wish that my boat wasn't t.u. or I would run up and show you how it's done!   :chuckle:  Maybe next year.  I can fit a few folks and a ton of pots on my work boat.  This is the first time in 20 years since I built this boat that it has crapped out on me.  :'(

I might have missed it, but since it appears everyone is just starting out early on boats is there a finish time (so to speak) where everyone kind of gathers with crab in tow at the shelter Ripper reserved?

Okay.....so.....Now that we got a bunch of folks....a place to go....some boats.....how is this working?

What time are most of the folks going?
Are we bringing some extra dogs, buns, and chips and having a kind of grill your own at the site?
Are we looking to focus more on a mid day?

I'm planning on making the run from Everett with my boy and the boat and having the wife and daughter meet us there whenever.

I know Ripper and the family will be there early so I am assumming this is a morning/lunch kind of shin dig.

I wont be making this event either, so scratch me from the list...
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Here is my plan. With a -2.5 tide at 9:30am, I'm launching in Everett at around 5:30. I'm going to run up to Port Susan and drop my pots. I will have some stuff with me so I will beach the boat and unload stuff into our shelter. The Mrs will get there when the park opens at 7:00am with the rest of our stuff. I would suggest that people get there early because the park fills up real fast on weekends. If you don't get there early to get a good parking spot then you have to park in overflow. That's up the hill a good quarter mile away. The rest is play it by ear. If anyone has folding tables, I would suggest bringing them along with lawn chairs.

Is anyone camping at the park? I haven't heard anyone say so.

HRD2FND- Have you been contacted about people camping out at your place? Is there going to be an after the event party out there? There is no alcohol allowed in Kayak Point unless you are discrete.

Here is a rough schedule of events.

7:00am- park opens
7-9 am- people arrive and things get set up, mingle, everyone with crab pots get's to set them.
9-12- check pots, rebait, fish, mingle, tell lies, snack, crab cleaning contest
1-3 pm or so- cook and eat crab and other food people brought, tell more lies, plan a party for later on that eve, possibly out at hrd2fnds place.
3-5pm- clean up, collect gear, present award for biggest flounder(length +width=X), present golden driftwood award for the boat bringing in the most crab.

Whoever else has ideas or contest you want to add, feel free to do so. Everything is subject to change. Having fun and meeting new people is the main goal.

There are grills there, so I would say yes, bring some dogs or whatever else to grill. I will bring my Colman stove also. Need to melt butter.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
