I will be launching around 5:00. I want to run up to Port Susan and get my pots in then meet the Mrs at 7:00 when the park opens. With the minus tides I think I'm going to have to fish for sturgeon. I may hook into one of those big striped flounder. I caught a few last year that over 20 inches long. I didn't know they got that big.

That's alright - I'll bring the "big" anchor, and I've got DRock to haul it back in :chuckle:

Fishstiq - are you kayak fishing too or are you going to be fishing with DRock and me?  I'd invite you to jump in the boat in Everett if you want, but don't know how much room we'll have for all of DRock's stuff you've so generously offered to bring...

Been working on the Flounder trophy. I really want to win this bad boy.  Should have a pic up of it tomorrow.

I'll just meet you guys at the park.  Between D-Rocks stuff and my stuff, it'll be easier that way.  I'll be there when the park opens, since I don't want to shlup all my stuff from the upper lot.

How far off the beach are you guys planning on going to drop your pots and fish?  Are we talking 200-300 yards, or 2 miles?

Not sure, never been up there before.  My secret plan is to follow guys in the nicer, newer welded aluminum boats around and drop pots a few feet down current from theirs.  Should work great!

I know you will!  Let's meet at J-Dock access point (remember how to get there?) at 6:30 so we can load up and get over to the launch by 7.  If you see my truck, but no me hanging around, call my cell - I'm probably sleeping off the Scuttlebutt's from the night before in the boat.  :chuckle:

 Awesome. I got all the gear, can I fill your boat with all my random fishing things like D-Rock and Skillet? It sounds fun.  :chuckle: I have a club, I have like 7 poles, a 10lb fishing bag, my salmon vest, a few nets we could throw in there, small-large, some livewell buckets that go in the water, oh oh, I can bring my fish-n-mate. Would be PERFECT for your boat. I can bring scales, and filet knives, and oh oh.... BAIT

No worries, man both of you can feel free to jump in with me when Fishstiq and Drock need a break from pulling up my pots...  :chuckle:
I've found that when I'm crabbing with other people, I like to zip tie a downrigger ball on each corner of my pots to make sure they don't move in the tide!  :chuckle:

Looks like Camano is about 3 miles from Kayak point, Gedney island is around 8 miles.  So I figure either folks are dropping pots and fishing fairly close to Kayak, or the boats are going out further than I'm gonna wanna swim to get back.  Hmmmmm......   :dunno:

I've never gone crabbing up there, so I have no idea.
