Arrow advice

I have a Patriot Bowtech 01 bow, 64 pounds and shooting carbon express CX 200's with G5 broadheads. What do you guys use for arrows? I'm not happy with the arrow and how light they are. The arrows spine is little light for shooting out to 60 yards. I'm looking for a little heavier arrow to provide more penetration and knockdown power. My arrow blows through deer and elk fine but I do not feel it has enough knockdown power.

Easton Axis 400.  Awesome arrows I have shot them since they first came out an the have never one me wrong.  They are a heavy arrow, i believe they are right at 9.5-10 GPI.  Wont go wrong with them.

My girlfriend and I both shoot Carbon Express Terminator  Lite Hunters...

9.8grs per inch, striaghtness to .003"

IIRC, my 29.5" arrows with 100gr tips weigh in just shy of 430grs, and a FOC at ~11%.

Tough as heck and shoot well for us.
I chose these because I wanted the durability of carbon, but I didn't want a super light arrow...these fit the bill perfectly and I am very pleased with them.

IIRC, we paid around $72 per dozen locally...but have seen them online selling for about $100 lately.

I think arrows are a little overated for the average hunter.  I would find something middle of the road, and the weight you are looking for.  Gold Tip, Beman, or Easton all would be fine arrows.  Find the weight and price you are looking for, or maybe whats on sale.  Good luck.

So getting around 9.5 to 10.5 GPI seems to be the ticket. I have looked at the FMJ's and the Eastons. Thanks for the information. My wife hasn't learned this yet but I'm going to buy a new bow. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to bet a Mathews.

get a mathews drenalin ( better than the new dxt) and shoot the full metal jackets... thats what i shoot and at 70 lbs at 60 - 70 yds the arrow buries to the fletchings if not more in a block 4x4 target

Easton FMJ's are the way to go.  Get either the regular FMJ's at 9.9 GPI or the Camo version of the FMJ's at 10.2 GPI (those GPI figures on a 400 spine by the way)... 

Mathews makes awesome bows hands down!   As I tell everyone, shoot every bow that you can before you make a decision.  One may fit and/or feel better than another and the one that fits and feels the best is the one you'll be most accurate with.  Just my

FMJ's all the way, though the new fusion axis won't bend like FMJ's!  As far as the bows go if you can wait I think alot of the new ones should start showing themselves sometime this month. Mathews is usualy towards the end of the year if I remember correctly.

I shoot the Axis 400 with the G5 Montec on the end. My father and I shoot the exact same bow and he shoots a normal diameter arrow with Montec's also. Every time we shoot the same targets I get better penetration then he does so I'm sold on the Axis arrows. I also shot my first bull with this setup this year and they blew through my bulls shoulders and heart. I was really impressed.

I've been shooting 3-71 acc's for a long time played around with axis arrows a few years back but went back to the acc.  I really like the ACC's.

I got some 300 spine axis FMJ camo shafts this spring but I didnt like the loss in speed that i got I think they were 12.1+ gpi. I gave them away.

I like the infused carbon axis better than the FMJ axis mostly because the carbon axis shafts are almost unbreakable with normal shooting where as the metal in FMJ's is fragile by comparison ( Bends and Dents).  I think the straightness is a wash
