I'd start with a new hand guard maybe a quad rail setup. How about a decent scope with QR style rings so you can switch back and forth between a red dot or something for home defense.
Main thing I can say is get rid of that crappy straight trigger guard and get a Rock River Winter Trigger Guard. ($15). More room for a gloved finger in cold weather. Scopes and mounts are a personal choice, but I prefer the one-piece scope mounts (like the P.E.R.P. mount, but you can get others for half the price), for their machined scope channels and strength.
I am building mine tomorrow and will post a pic if you are interested in the way it looks. Finally got all the parts last week. Johnny

What is the difference....I just bought the RRA enhanced to put on my build. Why do you like one over the other?

Why do you like one over the other? They are both good, but the RRA trigger guard gives a LOT more room for a gloved finger. The Magpul looks better, but I think the RRA is more fuctional. I'm a coyote hunter--looks don't mean squat to me....
Blacklab....SWEEET looking gun. What is the scope mount?
Heredoggydoggy lol so I have small fingers Machias It's a nikon m-223 1 peice
Nice! I was thinking of buliding another in 204 why I don't know. Maybe because it's faster than a 223 Then *censored* went crazy . So it's on the back burner.
On those YHM handguards, the barrel nut must be torqued to the proper tightness, AND indexed exactly 12 o'clock-6 o'clock to the centerline for the 2 screws in the 3 o'clock-9 o'clock holes in the handguard to lock into the grooves in the barrel nut. If the 2 screws are fully tight, and the forearm is loose, then the barrel nut is loose. Looseness will be limited by the gas tube going through the holes in the barrel nut.
