Need some direction here. Have looked through the Game regs and can not see where it prohibits the collection of antlers from dead animals found in the wild. I found where it is Legal to possess naturally shed antlers of deer elk and moose but can NOT find anything that says you can't collect antlers from animals found dead or even where it says you can't have them.
I am not reading between the lines of the regs and if it doesn't say you can't then that means you can.....

naturally shed antlers  (that means shed antlers, this is a kill, they are not shed antlers, I know, crazy isn't it)

It looks like it's done feeding on this kill?

These last pics are a few days old so he may be done by now, but there was still a fair amount of meat on the bottom side. It looks like he's coming in after dark. Maybe check along any roads or trails for tracks where he might be crossing. He's got a bed somewhere that he is spending daylight hours. If you could figure out where, try calling near there with a fawn bleat or cow call before he leaves the area. Once he is finished he will move on hunting until he makes another kill.

I've seen a lot of kills with only hair, some pieces of spine, a little piece of skull, jaw, and some foreleg bone left. If there is anything left he may come back to chew on it if he doesn't make a new kill, so you might get another chance at him after he has been gone a day or two.

I can't remember exactly how it is in WA for absolute sure, but what I said might be the way it is. I know for certain that in Utah you get a ticket unless they are naturally shed antlers, they are very strict about it. Before I picked them up I would ask the local warden or call the regional office and explain the situation. It might be fine, but better to check first.

Have to wait until next Sunday  :(  I'll see what is left when I get there and what is on my camera then.  About a mile away from the kill, I found a kitty litter area.  I'll keep you guys updated, hope to bring this kitty home.   :yeah:

If you get fresh snow and find tracks you could try walking him out, he should be close, move slow and quiet, watch closely, if you jump him then keep dogging him. Good luck...

You can not even pick up a skull with the horns attached  :yeah:  I would go buy some chickens from the neighbor and place them on the elk kill ....or any fresh meat for that matter ... Most likely he is not far and they can smell fresk blood a long way off ! :twocents:

:yeah:  Perfectly legal to bait cougar as long as you are not using edible parts of game animals or game fish or roadkill wildlife. I'm pretty sure you cannot move roadkill deer.

Well here is whats left, the coyotes had a go at it too. No picts on the trail cam other than deer and yotes. It did snow so I searched for cat tracks but found nothing. Also tried calling but nothing there either.I also moved my cam and pointed it at the elk, we'll see what's there in a couple more weeks.
