Rattle Snake round-up

Killed one while fly fishing at Lenice Lake two years ago.  It was pretty small.  We ate it; basically nibbling dry meat off the ribs.  Tasted like overcooked chicken.  What is the preferred method of preparation for rattlers?

killed 15 last year while fly fishing. I carry a 22 pistol with me as I always run into them while fly fishing the naches river. Oak Creek itself gets pretty bad with them too when I fish that.

WHAT         I have been hunting the area for 20+ years and have NEVER seen any type of snake.....  I HATE SNAKES!!!   

Reading this thread just made me nervous to get back out in the woods

I been so busy working but my plan is to head down to the Naches on May 1st to shed hunt, then in the afternoon we could meet up somewere in the area to hunt rattle snakes,  hows that sound.
