Buyin a Trijicon Scope Anyone with experience?? NEED ADVICE
« on: February 18, 2013, 07:26:29 PM »
Ok so I am buying a Trijicon 2.5-10x56 scope for my 375 Ruger, I have decided to go with the crosshairs vs the triangle on a post.  So my question is red or green for the lighted dot, which is easier to see when shooting at a distance?  I went to cabelas and all they had was the green.  I liked it but I wanna see the red before I commit to buying unless someone here has some advice???????  Thank You

There seems to be a varying opinion on best color.  Green generally by number of comments is preferred, followed by red and amber.  Seems as if Amber is best in low light, dusk and dawn.  In reality bright midday one just uses the crosshairs or post.  If you google Trijicon best color you'll find a good deal of info.

In case you're interested after looking at some others, I have a new in box 3x9x40 Trijicon AccuPoint crosshair amber dot I would make someone a good deal considering it's cost ($760+-) plus tax (($60+-) for approximately $820 plus or minus.....would sell for $675.  Bought it thinking I would put it on one of my rifles, but had a couple brand new Nikon Monarchs and Vortex Vipers sitting around that I opted for instead.

I have owned two (still have a 1.5X4 AccuPoint) and I think that red is the best option.  During the day the contrast is enough to see it and at night it is still bright but not overpowering.
