Free freezer to use as a smoker
« on: February 20, 2013, 01:16:13 PM »
I know that some people like to use old freezer's as a smoker.

We have a 12.0 cubic ft freezer that is not working anymore and we're replacing it with a new one today.  The inside is very clean and the racks are in great shape.

I live in SW Washington, near Carson.  If you want it please pm me.

is the internal liner plastic? if so, could be used as a cold smoker but not anything with heat, and they do work great for cold smoking  or someone could rip out all the plastic and insulation and have a large tin box to start with

Yep, plastic inside.  As you described, cold smoking as-is, or tear everything out for a large regular smoker.
