Hunting by lake kachess
« on: February 22, 2013, 06:21:14 AM »
Hi I was looking into if anyone hunts up north west area of lake kachess? Up by like Hibox mtn or any of that area? I am just trying to look around for other areas that are quite scenic possibly to deer and bear hunt, is that area legal to hunt etc? Not looking into someone honey hole by any means I'm just looking for some gorgeous country to be able to possibly venture into and find a buck or a bruin... Any info could help, even just letting me know if its able to be hunted in that area, if its worthy or what not...

Like I said not looking for honey holes, just looking to venture out and about, PM me if your more comfortable giving info that way. Thanks
Boom boom boom...

I don't know how good the hunting is there but you won't be alone. It's a popular area for outdoor recreation. Hiking, mountain biking etc. most of the area is NF but there are cabins and lots of dispersed camping in the lower areas around the lake.

I used to hunt that general area. Big bucks and bears during archery season.

Big bucks from what I hear.  Haven't hunted it though it's pretty heavily timbered area.

Good area. Do some scouting and get used to it and the different access points.
