Black Bear Special in BC
« on: February 22, 2013, 03:15:55 PM »
If any one is interested in an action-packed bear hunt, we are offering a special this spring. We can put on a 7-day hunt for 2 guys at $2750/hunter. 'Government' fees in addition, and total about $800, depending on a few variables. We will be hunting by combination of spot-and-stalk and pursuit with hounds and you will have 2 guides on the trip. We have 100% success and historically get 25-40% color-phase bears. You can also harvest a second bear on the trip if you want for a trophy fee of $1500. Border crossing with firearms and meat/trophies is quite simple and straight-forward.
Take care for now,
Neil Findlay

When is the season, and is it difficult for Americans to get non-resident tags?

Bear tags are unlimited and over the counter in BC. You can harvest 2 bears if you wish as well on a hunt.
Season runs April 1 - June 15, but 'peak' time is about May 10 - June 10.
Take care,
Neil Findlay

Do you have many archers that go with you?
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Yes - archers are common and certainly welcome. Always nice to try and get one with a bow by spot-and-stalk and I usually carry a rifle that I can hand off to the client if the stalk doesn't pan out for archery. Also, we use hounds a lot and makes for good, high-percentage kill shots with a bow.
