+1. They're doing the right thing standing for gun owners by refusing to sell to state agencies, but are screwing us at the same time by gouging us. They're charging $100 for a single PMAG. They'll never see any of my money again. It'll be going to MidwayUSA or Brownells instead.

I can see both sides of this from a business point of view. I have seen nothing but empty shelves pretty much everywhere I go, as a business owner the first question that comes to mind is how are these places making money to pay their bills? No inventory, leads to no sales, leads to no income, leads to closed doors.

You can hardly blame stores for getting as much as they can, they have no idea when they will be receiving more inventory.

Just something for you guys to consider the next time you wonder why a Pmag in a store is double the price it was a few months ago.

It's not double. It's $99 now and it was $12 before. What's more, it's not like that most places, just a couple places.

Really, all manufacturers should be boycotting sales to NY Law Enforcement, because Cuomo did not write a provision into the NY SAFE Act exempting police from the provisions. Technically no LE officer in the state of NY can have a pistol with a magazine holding more than 7 rounds (Which is also preposterous because no one makes 7 round magazines for anything except 1911's. Effectively they have banned everything but revolvers and 1911's in NY). NY LE also cannot have their weapons on school property. That's what happens when you run though a crappy bill without ever giving anyone the chance to read it.

Really? Can you tell me where those places are that it's not happening? I could use a couple more Pmags for $12 and some more 5.7x28 ammo for $20/box, and $15 bricks of .22LR

DSGArms, Brownells, MidwayUSA, etc. can all get you a PMAG for prehysteria prices. Of the few I listed I'd try DSG first, they're averaging 10-15 business days.

Can't help you with the 5.7mm because I've never bought it, so I've never tried tracking down deals for it.

Haven't seen .22 for $15 since before Obama got elected the first time, but that you can get at Cabelas for $23, which is what it cost before Sandy Hook and all this current nonsense. If you're hard up and can't wait, or don't want to check Cabelas regularly, I guess you could go on Gunbroker and get some bricks for $40.

Or you could go to Surplus Ammo and Arms and pay $85 for a brick  or Cheaper Than Dirt and pay $100 for a PMAG  . I'd be weary of any "supplier" that gets priced out of the market by individuals though.

You asked where you can get PMAGs for $12 and I gave you 3 places, and I told you you wouldn't get them immediately. I also told you I don't know where to find 5.7mm, and where to find .22 ammo, which was none of those first 3 places. I'm not sure what isn't as described.

Last time I checked (in Jan) DSG was making the most headway on backorders filling late Dec orders by mid Jan. It may be better or worse now, I don't know. But your order will be filled, and they will cost $12.25/ea. Or you could pay whatever crazy price Cheaper Than Dirt is charging now, and still end up waiting, but that's the nature of ordering anything online. You will have to wait regardless. If you think it's a bargain to pay $100/ea for a mag and wait a week instead of paying $12.25/ea and wait 2 or 3 weeks, then be my guest.

I guess there's a better chance of them being in stock at Cheaper Than Dirt because you'd have to be stupid to pay their prices. So how does that help them? You talked about increasing the price to offset supply issues, how does that work when no one buys because you've priced yourself out of the market? Not only are they still not making money, but they lost money buying product they can't move and are stuck storing inventory they can't sell. That's why places have stock, because people won't pay their prices. Not too many folks dumb enough to pay $85 for a box of .22 or $100 for a magazine. Then again, I guess you'd only need 1 out of 10 people to be that stupid if you charged that much.

And once again you fail to understand the issue I described in my original post, "I have seen nothing but empty shelves pretty much everywhere I go", the same at Midway, Brownells and DSG so your suggestion is appreciated but also proves my point, "most" actually fit my description better than your "it's not like that most places, just a couple places"

I agree its ridiculous to be paying these prices but if someone wants the items "now" they either pay the extra $ or sit and wait what could be months. I just got a call on Monday that some ammo I ordered in December has arrived, I'm limited to 4 boxes after waiting 3+ months.

I was talking about the prices, not the inventory, in response to you saying:

I doubt these other sellers have a much better idea of when they'll be getting inventory when compared to the couple of businesses that have lost their minds on pricing, but their prices remain the same. Most places haven't raised their prices at all, and of those that have, it's been raised a little bit, not to 5-10 times the price of early December.

I second removing Cheaper than Dirt, they are the worst.

I also nominate adding Allied Armory - The have kept prices reasonable and won't sell restricted items to law enforcement in states with new anti gun laws.

And of course you have to put magpul on there.

I'm still waiting to hear from S&W and Ruger about what they're going to do to help gun owners this time around, as opposed to repeating their past actions.

Colt managed to close down their plant to bus their employees to an anti gun meeting as opposition, so at least they're doing things to atone for their past actions. They leveraged their employees as collateral against CT legislators to prevent them from passing laws against "assault weapons". You can find that using the search function for "colt shuts plant".
