at what point on a moose rack does spread over ride all other aspects of a good score?
Basically at what point do you say "CRAP"  and just pull the trigger!   40" or 45" or 50" or more?

Remember this is just theoretical I don't really have a lead on a 50" bull!

   Longtat has the right Idea.  If you like it SHOOT it.   Most guys can't tell the difference between a 55 inch bull or a 45 inch bull when they are exploding through the brush at 30 yards grunting at you.  They are sort of intimidating that way.  Even a 30 inch bull will make your trigger finger twitch

Spread is just one thing, you need it all!!! I just got over here and found out that the bull that I havn't told you guy's about is know by all Going out scouting tonight and in the morning. If I find him I'm going to camp out on him until the opener.

I talked to someone the other day and I guess the bulls are really ripping right now!!!!!

By the way, I checked the Idaho harvest report and only 2% of the moose harvested last year in the entire state were between 50 and 54 inches!!!!!!

With WA's tag numbers you can deduce that at this percent only 2 moose will be killed this year that will make that 50" mark!!
Then again I saw a 38" moose taken in Wyoming that scored 155 BC!!!!

In the end your right TAT, it is what your happy with!!

I agree 100%, score wil be secondary in my book but it sure would be nice to get one that scores well.   I've heard about the big one too, if you get him I think the horn competition would be over.

It's all about what makes you happy. The trophy is in the eye of the beholder.  I agree a 50" in this area is rare.  Spread is a big thing but good palmated fronts are huge in my book. Good Luck! Be prepared for the pack out.  Can never have too many options for a critter that size on the ground in front of you.
